Really good food and friendly service while I was there and I really wanted to give this a five star but can't because he got my takeout order wrong. I ordered the tea leaf salad, which I was really looking forward to having, but was given a salad without the tea leaf. It's like getting a tofu dish with no tofu or a steak salad with no beef. The guy who took my order, most likely the manager or owner, went over my order twice so there was no excuse to get it wrong.
When you see a place that has a 4.9 rating you've got to take notice. We did. Is it deserved? Yep absolutely. Now if you're not a Thai food fan then you might not agree but if you are then you should. Excellent preparation and fresh complex flavors that come through very well. Loved everything we tried. Just fantastic.
Must try! Everything was delicious. I honestly don't remember the names of the dishes, but I included photos. Definitely try the fried chicken with curry! Adorable place too!
This is a solid Asian option in a town without much beyond the casual fine dining chains. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about food preparation. We enjoyed the fermented tea leaf salad, but I will give a heads up that the flavor is a bit more intense than other restaurants because they use some legit fermentation on their tea. We also enjoyed the fried chicken curryplate because who can say no to a fried chicken curry. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the rice wasn't overdone. My favorite side dish was the cucumber salad which comes as a side and along with the other dishes.
Very good!
An absolute hidden gem located in Boise. You are overwhelmed by delicious asian smells and flavors the second you walk in the door making you salivate instantly. Some of the best Burmese food I have ever had in my life. You are getting better quality food than that of michelin star restaurants for less than 20$ a person. Beautiful plate presentation, quick friendly service. We will be back!
Service was wonderful! Our server checked on us several times and brought extras without even being asked - spice tray, extra lettuce leaves. Food was so flavorful and well prepared.
Egg Rolls: Very oily, and it tasted like rancid oil. It was not pleasant. The inside was filled with noodles. No pork, shrimp and had sparse vegetables at best.
Pad Thai: under-seasoned. No acid. Not even lime was given. The noodles were very thin & over cooked mushy - not your typical pad Thai rice noodle.
Fried Chicken & Curry: Most disturbing & disappointing. It came with chicken leg & thighs- dark meat. It was dry, tough, stringy and chewy. How is that even possible for dark meat?!!! It clearly was OLD LEFTOVERS. I wish it was just burnt, but sadly it is NOT. The bread it came in was so soggy with oil that it felt like Vaseline all over my lips and tongue. Again, rancid oil. The curry was okay, except that it had a film of congealed fat on top. Again, unappetizing. Not even the courtesy of reheating it. Again, the whole thing screamed old leftovers given to customers.
Sticky mango Rice: brown, dry, old mangoes. The white sticky rice is dry and is tough/chewy…. Again, old. Poor quality.
Overall: Spent $77. Poor quality, disappointing & disgusting food. No pride in their food. Most troubling is that there is real food safety issues - old poor quality food being served to customers.
I’m glad that this restaurant is in the area. Really had high hopes. Maybe they just had a bad day/chef. With that said, there is some food quality and safety concerns.
Will not recommend.
I consider myself a Thai aficionado as I've lived there and took thai cooking lessons~ It's a wonderful restaurant that brings authentic flavor in large portions. The staff is genuine and kind and they turn that into a flavorful dish. I enjoyed the classics which reminded me of my times in Bangkok and hints of Changmai with their larb!
